João Fazenda was born and raised in Lisbon, where he graduated in Fine Arts - Painting. His work spans illustration, comics, animated cinema and drawing. He regularly contributes to the national and international press for publications such as the New Yorker, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and Expresso, among others. He has illustrated several books, record covers, movie posters and institutional campaigns. He has made animated short films. Among the many national and international awards he has received, we highlight the 2016 National Illustration Award and the Silver and Gold medals from the Society of Illustrators - New York.
